Welcome to STA in 2023!

This is a dedicated section for our year 6 students and their families. We hope you find it useful as we move towards September 2023. We would also encourage you to join our New Starters Facebook group where you will be able to ask questions and meet some other soon-to-be St Andrew's members. Click here to access St Andrew's: New starters group - 2023.

We would love show you around the school during the day with a member of the Leadership team, to see us in action and experience what school life is really like. You can book one of these tours by clicking here.

The first step of joining St Andrew's family is to complete the transition paperwork.  Please take some time to complete the forms on both links below - this will take approximately 20 minutes.

Starting secondary school may seem like a daunting and an overwhelming experience but we have a number of events planned to help ease students into life at St Andrew’s. This will commence with our first live Welcome & Information evening, held on the evening of Wednesday 15th March. Here you will get to meet myself, as well as some other key members of the School Leadership Team. On this evening you will also receive further information to support you through the transition process.

A couple of key dates for your diary are:

  • Transition interview; phone call with a member of Senior Leadership

  • Individual/group appointment times TBC if requested

  • Welcome & Information evening (families)
    Wednesday 15th March – 6:00pm – 7:00pm, refreshments will be available from 4.30pm

  • Year 6 afternoon tea (families)
    Friday 19th May – 4.00pm - 5.30pm

  • Year 6 transition day (students only)
    Wednesday 5th July (9.00am to 3.00pm)

  • Summer fair (families)
Friday 14th July – 2pm – 5pm (please arrive at any time after 2pm, to join our current community at the fair)

We are also aware that some young people need more bespoke support when they experience change.  Our SENDCo (Mrs Stewart) and our new Head of Year 7 (who is coming to post in September) will be jointly running additional sessions to support individuals. These sessions will be invitation only, and further support will be added for individuals where appropriate.

  • Wednesday 10th May - individual meetings and activities

  • Wednesday 24th May  - small groups

  • Wednesday 14th June - individual meetings and activities

  • Wednesday 28th June - small groups
